Europrop International – 1 Million Engine Flying Hours
since March 2nd, 2026The TP400-D6 Programme of EPI Europrop International GmbH, today proudly celebrates an additional major milestone: reaching one million engine flying hours.
Far beyond the achievement itself, the EPI TP400-D6 Programme is working full steam ahead, providing a range of services to ensure the reliability of its TP400-D6 engines for its Operating Nations.
Reflecting on the Programme’s key milestones, the TP400-D6 engine achieved certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in 2011, marking a major achievement for European military propulsion, and finally entered service in August 2013. That same year, the first operational milestone was reached with the delivery of MSN007 to the French Air and Space Force (FAF) in August 2013, shortly followed by MSN009 to the Turkish Air Force (TURAF). In 2014, MSN015 was delivered to the Royal Air Force (RAF), followed by MSN018 for the German Air Force. The programme continued to expand with the Malaysian Air Force in 2015, Spanish Air Force in 2016, the Belgian and Luxembourg Air Forces in 2020, Kazakhstan Air Force in 2024, and most recently the Indonesian Air Force just a few months ago.
Together, these TP400-D6 Operating Nations stand at the very heart of the one-million-engine-flight-hours milestone. Through their sustained operational deployments, training missions, and real-world engagements over the years, they have collectively built the experience, maturity, and proven reliability that define the complete TP400-D6 fleet today.
Over the past few years, the EPI Consortium has steadily strengthened its expertise, delivering a comprehensive Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capability fully aligned with Operators’ needs. Reaching one million flight hours has not only been a technical achievement, but also the result of sustained and structured support through its Services and Mission Support.
The EPI Europrop International GmbH Consortium, would first like to acknowledge the trust of its current ten Operating Nations, whose dedication in flying the TP400-D6 has made the one million engine flight hours milestone possible. These include the Belgian Air Force, French Air Force, German Air Force, Luxembourg Air Force, Royal Air Force, Spanish Air Force, Türkiye Air Force, Malaysian Air Force, Kazakhstan Air Force, and Indonesian Air Force. Each mission flown over the years has contributed to the experience, reliability, and operational maturity of the fleet, bringing the TP400-D6 to life in service.
This milestone also reflects the crucial institutional support provided by OCCAR through the Engine Support Step 2 (ESS2) contract, which has ensured structured and sustained engine support. Together, the trust of our Operators and the strength of this support framework have enabled this achievement. True to its mission, EPI remains fully committed to delivering reliable Services and Mission Support to its Operating Nations in the years ahead.
